I seriously can’t believe it but tomorrow my daughter, Scarlet, will be one years old.
September 10th will officially be one year since I gave birth to her AND rebirthed myself.
I’m experiencing so many different emotions, sensations and feelings about the past year as I sit here reflecting on what pregnancy, giving birth, the initial postpartum period and my journey into motherhood (and deeper into my eroticism through ALL of it) has been like.
One whole year of being a mother. One whole year of learning how to mother not only Scarlet, but myself. One whole year of stepping into the Erotic Mother and reclaiming my erotic nature, power and pleasure.
I’ve learned a lot about my sexuality and who I am as an erotic woman and sexual being since giving birth, entering the postpartum period and becoming a mother.
The postpartum (well, at least the initial 6-8 weeks) period is what I want to focus on in this week’s video.
I want to share my experience — MY truth — with postpartum sex after having a baby.
I want to share the raw, real, nitty gritty details. The things most people would hold back, hide or possibly struggle with in silence.
I’m not just talking about sexual intercourse or even partnered sex, but my sexuality as a whole, INCLUDING the first few times I had vaginal sex.
I’m sharing things that most people wouldn’t dare speak out loud…because that’s how we shed shame, release trauma and break the taboos around postpartum healing, sex after baby and the rite of passages that follow becoming a mother AND still being erotic and sexual.
I recommend checking this week’s video out even if you’re not a mother/parent/caretaker or have no desire to be or if you’re struggling in that arena in any way right now.
The way we treat or understand womxn and the postpartum journey, especially in the realm of sexuality, really needs to shift.
I actually found that the initial few weeks of my postpartum journey were raw, weird, challenging, beautiful AND pretty fucking sexy in a lot of ways.
I share more about what that means for me in this week’s video…which you can watch below.
