I’ll answer a few common questions here:

1. Is it normal to feel numb or like nothing is happening?

Yes, sometimes when you’ve been numb and shut down for YEARS, it doesn’t feel safe to feel the repressed emotions out yet

This is why I do somatic practices daily so my nervous system has repetition that allows me to feel safe to slowly release other time.

Keep trying—your body has an innate intelligence that will release when it’s ready & it happens in layers & waves.

It’s ok if it feels awkward, silly, strange—try it a few times per week.

2. “I’m scared to feel or unleash my feelings.”

I get it. We’ve been conditioned to hold it all in and stuff it all down.

It can feel like opening Pandora’s Box. What will you unleash that you can’t “put back in?” once it’s out.

Many women (myself and my clients included before doing this work) are afraid that if they unleash their rage, it will burn everything in its path or the grief will be all-consuming like a never-ending well.

Some women are afraid to feel because the repressed emotions and shut down have been their only form of protection or identity.

And deep down they know that things will change once they start feeling it…

—they’ll have to leave the relationship that’s draining them
—they’ll have to set boundaries or share desires or uncomfortable truths they’ve been holding in
—they’ll have to speak up or make decisions, etc.

Let yourself feel it even 1%.
