I’ll never forget the night that I was seduced by the Hindu Goddess Kali. It was during a very intense New moon in August this past year and I had a feeling that I needed to dance seductively with the Divine, my inner shadow seductress, my darkness, and my desires.
In fact, I had to have my dirty way with it all. I had to bump and grind into the night through ritual and embodiment, drawing out every last drop of what needed to be felt.
On this particular night, there was a storm brewing in the distance over Lake Michigan. The air was thick, warm and muggy as I briskly walked to an empty brick pavilion overlooking the lake. Something had been calling me there, although I wasn’t sure exactly what—or who—it was. I could tell that it was a powerful force that needed to be unleashed very soon, though.
